Nice Utah Archery Buck

My friend killed this nice buck with a General Utah Archery Tag. OK, he didn't really kill it with the tag. He used a bow and arrow. Any guesses on the width and score?

I was going to make up a really cool story to go along with this buck, but the truth is, he found a honeyhole that he's been hunting for the last 3 or 4 years. Every year he sees a few really nice ones, but wasn't able to make everything come together until this year.

Here is another wide buck that was running with the one he killed. Any guesses on the width of this one?

Great bucks! Both of them! I'd guess the buck he harvested to be around 27" wide and maybe 180ish gross. The live photo buck does look to be around 33-34" wide or so.

The dead buck looks to be right around 28" wide and I will agree with NvrEnuf on the score at 180" give or take a couple inches

I am always a little conservative, I'll say 26" wide, gross scores 171". The live buck is about 32" Great bucks.

Good call. The first buck is about 26" and would gross 1705ish?and the second would go 32" Loved the story in MuleyCrazy. Great deer!

I figured it was time to log in and give the details. Yes, I sent the story to Muley Crazy and it appeared in their latest issue. The details on my deer; actually, he is 28" wide and we gross scored him at 187 and some change. In my story, I mention that I videoed this buck during my scouting trip. I showed the video to SureShot and we both underestimated him. I thought he was around 25 or 26 wide. I was happily surprised when he taped out at 28" wide. I have pictures of the buck I killed from 2004, it is amazing to see the width and mass that he has put on this year. The picture of the wide deer, well, that was taken in 2004. I have been watching this buck for the past 4 years. He is an awesome deer. I have watched him go from a 3X3 to to a 4X4 and this year a 3X4. I guessed him at 34 or 35 in the picture, but this year I figured him around 36 or 37 wide. (maybe more)
