I shot this guy opening morning of my early-season rifle tag here in Montana. it was about an hour after legal light on October 15.
I know alot of guys on here wouldnt take this buck but he's by far my best muley so far. Hes only a little over 20 wide but has good mass and really nice back forks to go with the 3 extra points, 6x7 all together. i gross scored him just over 160, not bad considering i was told by a member on this site that there isnt a muley over 150 in the entire area.
I shot him about 3 miles from the truck but ended up taking him out about 6 miles (downhill instead of up), by far the hardest ive worked for a deer, but i think he was worth it.
I'll throw the pictures on here as soon as i can figure out how.

Randy, nice buck, great looking country as well. I hope that is start of many more trophy's for you.

That buck has a lot of character and you should be very proud to have taken him. Good job!

I agree. Cool buck with character. Congratulations and good work getting into some country away from the road.

Thanks everyone for taking a look, I'm still pretty proud of him.
The areas pretty interesting. They only gave out 200 permits for either sex-either species deer, and of those 200 permits, only four muleys were shot, my buck, two little bucks and a doe. A lot of 130-150 whiteys were shot though, and alot easier to get at. Most people dont even know theres any muleys in the area, so its kinda fun hunting this herd, absolutely no pressure on them. the only down part was getting him out 10 hours in 70 degree weather. Im too used to those late november kills i guess. Anyhoo it was a great hunt and a really memorable one, my favorite hunting area, my dad is behind the camera, and my first big muley.
