Great beams that look to be atleast 28"s and the huge inside spread show me this deer might fool some. It doesn't look like a huge bodied buck so there isn't anything to give it scale. Great bases but average mass elsewhere. I can't see this buck not grossing atleast 200 typical. It looks 32"ish wide.

Im gonna guess......

31.5" wide, 198 gross. Either way, that is an AWESOME deer. THose main beams are amazing!!

One of the better first posts I've seen, not asking where a 200inch buck is, but showing a 200inch buck, that is a first. I guesstimate 32 196 gross. Great buck

Those are some awesome fronts. Can't really tell the width and score by the photos but definately a great buck.

I think this deer was shot off the Henrys by a guy name Jeremy. From cheater to cheater 33" and grossed 205 to 208.

Actually this is a Bookcliffs buck.
I do have a real dilema though.
I currently have 6 deer points.
I have been trying for a Paunsagunt tag.
I have a line on a few good bucks there,I believe it is on it's way back to producing good bucks.
My cousin is a little disappointed that he shot the smallest out of the three bucks.I guess the other two,had the same horn structure with more points on each side, along with a little more width.
What should I do???
Considering the current drawing odd's
Try to maybe get a Pausagunt tag or
Try to draw & hunt one of the other two bucks that my cousin couldn't get on????
Help me decide.

Thanx,
Snuffer

About 30 1/2 wide 189 Elksnuff just send me the GPS location of those other bucks and I will keep putting in for the Bookcliff area and you can go down to the southern area and hunt there.
Great Buck, I hope I get one just like him out of there in the next year or two.

29" outside, 195 gross ...

If you have a line on a comparable buck - much less two - can't believe you have a dilemma!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-25-05 AT 09:52AM (MST)[p]So what is the score and width on this buck? Story would be cool also.
Unless you have been watching them other bucks then they might not be there next year. But looks to me and the reputation of that unit you have a good chance of nailing a good buck.

Great frame and long beams. A shame his G-3s come off so high, but I think this buck could fool some. No reference objects for scale makes this tougher. The buck doesn't appear to be exceptionally large-bodied, so I'll hazard a guess of 32" wide and gross 198 and change.

I realize that scoring from pictures,is very tough.
You guy's are some great guessers!
However, I hoped to wait for a couple more days to see if anyone could get it dead-on.

Gator: I don't have a GPS so sending you the coordinates will have to wait.

The story about my cousin is;He is a very hard-core muledeer nut.
He thrives on finding and hunting deer in the most obvious places.
Alot of poeple often overlook the places where he usually hunts.
He has had some great success by doing this.
The average score of the other bucks in his house is around 195.
I wish I had some elaborate story about how he packed into the wilderness for 20 miles,or rode horses for 3 days to get into the backcountry. When in reality, we was able to get the fourwheeler to this one.

Hell of a buck! By looking at the pics he has great width, fronts look great, but I don't think he has the mass and G1's to break the 190" mark--my guess is 187".

I would say in my non-professional opinion that he will gross out at 190 4/8 giving him a spread credit of 28" (which is what i guess the main beam to be.)

Inside spread i'd say 28 2/8"
Outside spread with the kickers-31 7/8"

I did not read the other posts so i apologize if i copied someone elses guess.

That buck has pretty weak back forks, and is lacking in mass. The thing it has is long beams and a large inside spread credit. I still have a hard time thinking it would gross higher that 190. I am going to guess 183 net.

Those forks look like they night crawlers hanging off them(they sure hook ). Forks not too deep either ,however wide enough to count! 182"

Wow. Those are some pretty big numbers. I just don't see it even though the buck looks like it may have several scoreable points near the G1's. I'm going to say 185 because of those points with a 28" outside spread. Beautiful buck regarless of the score. Congrats. Go for the Pauns!

32 1/4" Wide and 191 5/8" Gross.

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Elksnuffer Heck I will take a handdrawn map on a napkin if that is all you have. LOL Still think he will score high 180's

not alot of mass not too big in the back either great main beams my guess is 186 7/8 31 3/4 uotside. nice deer i haven't shot one that wide yet

Hey guy's

Here's a couple hints:
I know the photo's are a bit washed out(to much sun light).
This buck's mass is slightly above average.
The body is about average for a 4-year old buck.

Thanx,
Snuffer

By the looksies of those big ol-ears, I say he barely hits 30", maybe, but with pretty good mass and those knocker beams I put him at 211 gross, including the trash at the base plus the few stickers up high. What do I win?

OK, how long you going to leave us hanging? Been a week already.

That deer is going to gain lots of ground on his main beams, and he has the perfect scenario for inside spread credit.

Well Guy's,

I guess it's time to let you know how the scoring went.

1. The gross score of this buck is 204

2. The width is exactly 31.5 inches

As I had posted earlier beliveit or not this buck has slightly above average mass and a average 4-yearold body.

Thanks to all of you,who participated.
Some of you guy's were really close.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!!

Thanx,
Snuffer

>32.5" wide 203 7/8" gross
>Happy Holidays, Mike

A large hooded sweatshirt please. Oops, wrong post.
Mike

Buckspy,

I can't remember the exact measurements.
It seems like it was in the 27 inch range.
I don't have his deer here with me and I do remember the overall
gross was 204

Thanx,

Elksnuffer,

I ran into your cousin at wal-mart yeserday.
I asked him how his hunt went?
He said pretty good, but the bigger one's got away.
He was kinda bummed out.
When I asked him if he had, his pictures.
He said you had posted some here on MM.
He killed a great buck.
There is nothing to be ashamed of.
Those others must have been some real dandy's.
I would love to shoot a buck like this.
He should be real happy.
