Elk hunts still going?

According to the proclamation, the limited entry and spike hunts should have ended a couple days ago and there shouldn't be any cow hunts going on yet on the unit I was on today, yet when the F&G was called about a guy with an elk in the back of his truck, they said the seasons were still open. What's going on with that?

I have a cow tag for the Manti that just opened up today and runs through Jan 31st.

There are cow hunts staggered all over the state right now as well as all the CWMU hunts that are virtually on every unit in the state. Those hunts don't end until the end of October on some and mid November on others.

Don't forget about all the other states hunting as well. Idaho kicked off last week along with Wyoming and some Montana, and Colorado as well. Could have been some one going home.

Were the License Plates on the Truck Disabled Plates ? Disabled Hunters have until October 20th on the Spike Elk...

The five day extension on the End of the Spike Elk hunt really didn't help me though... Really need the Extension Before the General hunts... the animals are generally spooked after the General hunts and the few Disabled Hunters like myself really had no chance whatsoever of getting close to a Spike Elk. I tried until I dropped.
