I was very fortunate this fall. With my good buddy's help, I was able to take this bull with an over the counter tag in an open bull unit on public land. It was the only live elk I saw all hunt. It is my first bull. Everything worked in my favor and I was able to sneak up on him and shoot him in his bed from 45 yards. It was an awesome experience. I thought I would share. Congrats to all who were successful this year, and good luck to all in the future!

Congrats on a beautiful Bull, what unit did he come from?

There's room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potato's and gravy.

Congrats on a truly once in a lifetime achievement considering the circumstances in which you killed him. Lots of guys don't kill Bulls that big after waiting 15+ years for their LE tags.

That a great Bull, He will look good hanging on your wall.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have always thought my chance at a mature Utah bull is about 0. I have no LE bull points because I have put everything into the mule deer bucket. I have 13 mule deer points. Now that the pressure of taking a nice elk is off, I am prepared to wait another 13 years for my Henries tag. :)
