Will the Wyoming point fee change your plans for this year

I have seen a lot of posts suggesting that hunters will definitely change the way the apply in Wyoming, especially for moose and sheep. But honestly, how many here will change the way they apply? How many can truly say they will throw in the towel and not play the game? How many will apply rather than simply buy a point? How many will continue to simply buy points while waiting till they get to the top of the point pool?

As for myself, I will continue applying as if nothing has happened with no more than the understanding that if I continue obtaining points for as many species as possible I will someday draw a tag. I wonder how many others will share my stance?

I don't think many people will change. They talk a good talk about bailing out, but in the end they'll send in the dough. I do think it makes sense for people to start sending in the full amount, though. You're paying for the point one way or the other, you might as well put yourself in the random draw.

Heck, I've only got three points for sheep and moose, but why not stay in? I've got nothing to lose. As a friend said to me: a motivated person could go shovel snow for a weekend and afford the points. What are your priorities?

Oak,
I'm with you. I b!tched and moaned, contemplated bailing out, but wrote the check anyway. What can I say.....I want to hunt sheep and moose in WY someday.

I bailed out on the sheep draw. I have better things to bo with $100. If I was in the top two or three point range I would have kept going but with 4 points I think it's a waste of money. $100 will buy me elk and deer points and I get to start out with max points with everyone else.

I thought many would bail out or not pay up for points, From what I am seeing and hearing most are getting in/ staying in.

I am applying to draw sheep, bailing on moose. Guess I'll do deer and elk, and drop antelope. I wonder if the special/regular hunts will change draw odds on deer, elk and antelope? It may make sense to buck up now, rather than let the points fees add up over the years, if the special hunts offer better draw odds.

I will be bailing on sheep for sure, and probably on moose. Of course, I don't have much to lose because I only had a couple of points for each.

I'm out on sheep! Staying in the game for moose and starting the points for elk, deer and antelope.

I was going to start applying to get in on the ground floor with the point system, but not now, too much $$ just for a point in my opinion. I'll stick with taken the kids out and just enjoy spending some extra quality time with them in my home state.

I'm in for points for elk, deer, and oldest son for same + antelope. I started him on points for sheep and moose last year, but am bailing out on those, at this point you could start applying now and still never hunt sheep before you die, IMO. Good luck in the draws.
