So I moved to Arizona 1.5 yrs ago and I finally ran into a guy who knows what he is doing here is AZ. He invited me to head down to the mexican border and hunt Muleys. It was a lot of fun. In 1 day we saw well over 80 mule deer in country that doesn't look like it would hold a snake let alone a muley. We saw one nice buck, that was harvested around 25-26 inch spread. No real toads, but for 1 day of hunting it was a blast. We are heading down again next weekend hopefully some of the real big boys will come out. I never would have believed I'd be hunting muleys in January. Happy hunting

Welcome to the desert.I think most people are surprised that such big muledeer really exist in the desert. This year Between my brother and I along with some friends we have taken a Three bucks well over 30 inches Hopefully they'll be posted on maddglasser's thread.I think you'll be impressed.

It's amazing isn't it. I went out a couple weeks ago and saw at least 20 to 30 deer. The bucks weren't running with the does yet. I put a stalk on a decent buck but lost him in a wash and he slipped away. Had a friend on the ridge watching trying to give me hand signals. Guess he was waving like crazy when I got within 20 yds of the buck and he was bedded down still. Hopefully this weekend will be better.

I believe I was 20-25 miles north of the mexican border. It was amazing that these deer were in this terrain. The one larger buck was trying to mount a doe. We also saw 4 Coues deer, 1 buck.
