CWD update

Folks you might want to check today's Denver Post, they've found prions in deer muscle meat now instead of just in the nervous system. Still no evidence of spreading to humans...and (IMHO) given that this new finding means most of us have consumed it, this probably actually means there's that much less of a chance of human impact.

A little worrisome, but will not keep my family from eating deer/elk. Main thing is not to shoot anything that looks sick.

I really think the CDOW really blew the CWD totally out of proportion with all the culling they did here in Colo. Maybe it was best they kept things on the safe side since little was known about the disease? I guess only time will tell but from what I've heard CWD has been here on the front range of Colo for over 20 years!

That is a big discovery. It's impossible to know what it will mean, if anything; but a big discovery. Good advice, phantom.

Jim-it's been up around Fort Collins for that long, for sure. Possibly much longer than that.
