I just ordered the Badlands 2200 Day Pack. Anybody use this pack? How do you like it?

"Badlands 2200 Day Pack
An internal T-6 aluminum frame distributes weight evenly across your shoulders and hips. Plus, the thermo-molded memory-foam suspension offers silent shock absorption on long hikes or stalks. The split waist belt surrounds your hips for maximum comfort. Batwing construction holds a tripod, shooting sticks or a spotting scope securely while the nylon compression straps make it easy to lash a bow to the back of the pack. And when you need to pack out meat, just pull the blaze orange compression pod out of its pocket and your loading capabilities are doubled. The rear-entry panel enables you to loosen the straps, slide the pack bag to the front and access all your gear without ever setting the pack down. Hydration-system compatible."

All I can say is it's one helluva pack!!! I have the older model, but love it anyways. Best $100 I ever spent!

This fall I loaded my freshly skinned bear rug (close to 400 lb bear) and my pack weighed a SOLID 130 lbs. The pack handled it great, and I'm sure we would've been much longer in getting it out had we not had the pack.

i have that pack and really like it. Although it is a bit much and heavy for short hikes. I switch back and forth between it and a smaller one. Fits snug and comfy just a little heavy at times.

I'd agreee that it's a helluva pack!!! I have one of the first models they came out with through Easton.....and man.....I love it! It fits solid and is very, very comfortable! It will handle any load you have and will feel like heaven at the same time! GOOD CHOICE PILGRIM! I too am considering geting the larger 2800 for long packs in.....any info on it would be great.

I used a Badlands 2200 in 2005 on an archery elk hunt and a rifle mule deer hunt, both of which were in some steep country in Idaho. The pack worked great. I had it loaded down with gear, meat and horns on a couple of occasions and couldn't have asked for more out of a backpack. A pack frame probably would be better for heavy loads, but I like the versatility of a backpack and internal frame.

I would recommend the 2200 to anyone. I love the pack. This year was the first that I used it. As a day pack, it has everything a hunter would need. I packed out half a boned out bull elk, plus the antlers with ease. I know my partner, with his old frame pack was much more unconfortable than I. Later in the season I packed the front part of my son's muley buck (second rib forward), including the head, without any problems. Badlands definitely designed this pack with hunters in mind.

I have one that I have not REALLY been able to stress yet but this is a good pack. Base weight is a light more than I want most of the time but not a bad pack.

Best pack i've ever owned. last archery season we forgot to bring our pack frames so we packed out my spike elk with our 2200's. they work awesome and the warranty is hard to beat.

Great pack in my opinion as well. I chose it over the 2800 because i ddin't like the role down top on it. However the 2200's top is kinda hard to get into when all strapped down. I end up using the back load compartment anyway. I had an elk hind quarter and 20+ pounds of misc. gear on mine, and was very pleased when lifting by shoulder straps and stressing them substantially, there was no sign that they were near the breaking point or that the stitches would rip.

Great quality product.
If you need to haul a heavy load, it is comfortable and worth the money. I would not recommend it for short, light hunts but great for the big stuff.

I have the 2800 and have used it for bivvy hunting for two years. It never has showed any weakness whatsoever. It a little small for bivvy hunting for long periods of time but will work for two maybe three nights out. This year I carried a fully boned out mule deer with head and antlers and the pack held up fine. I have no complaints as of yet. fatrooster.

I just sold my 2200 and bought an Eberlestock J105. The 2200 is a great pack as all have mentioned but I wanted something a little bigger for backcountry hunts. Good luck with yours and post a product review as soon as you get to use it.

I just got my 2200 in the mail today. The thing seems real solid. I cant wait to pack out some moose tine with it! Its going to make the ultimate daypack, i think it has everything a guy could ask for from a daypack.

I've used one for 3 years. It's an awesome rifle hunting and warm weather archery pack, and like some of the others I've packed an entire boned out buck (WY, Region H) inside it, with about 30 pounds lashed to the outside, and the head on top, about 2.5 miles - no problem. Have packed a 6-point bull skull and about 50lbs boned meat - no problem, but the pack frame was better for the rest of the trips.

On cold weather archery stalks, it's a little noisy - mine (newer) is quieter than my buddies, so i think they improved the fabric some. My buddy hunts harder than anyone else I know, and more successfully - he has had to send his back for repairs after several 80-100lb loads, the aluminum stays ripped through - repaired no problem. He is the only person I know who has used one hard enough to damage it.

My only complaint is the configuration of the small pockets on the batwing bottom/belt - they are difficult to get into without taking the pack off your shoulders. I'm very pleased with it overall, though. I carry the pack full when I hunt, with two large game bags inside. When I kill, all of the gear inside goes into a game bag, and I fill the other with boned out meat inside the pack - you can put at least 70lbs boned out meat inside, and with the bat wings and straps the other game bag with the pack contents is easy to secure to the exterior. It's not exactly comfortable, but really nice when one tough trip back to camp beats a second return trip on a deer hunt.

Thanks for the replies! sounds like I got a good pack. I bought it for $112.00 delivered to my house.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I bought the same pack a year and a half ago for about $130. You will love it. It is a little big for a day pack but you can sinch it down pretty tight so it doesn't seem too bulky. I have lower back problems once in while and the way this pack can be adjusted I can hike all day long and it will be comfortable without straining by lower back at all.

Great pack! Just bought my 2200 last fall prior to the hunts and am really pleased with the functionality. It's a bit big/heavy for some of my hunts/jaunts, but holds just the right amount of gear when you need it.

I don't like the spotting scope sleeve for angled spotters - just doesn't fit well - so I carry the spotter inside.

I also wish the plastic load adjustment buckles on the belt were farther back or farther forward. They are right where a slung rifle on your shoulder scratches against them.
