Credit Card Question

As most of you know states like New Mexico and Utah allow you to put in with your card and don't charge it until you draw. However, if it gets declined once they don't try again. I know with my visa card whenever I try to make a large purchase (like over $1000), the machine at the store advises the store to call a 1-800 number. Does anyone know if this "disqualifies" your application, or will they call the number. This is a good thing for security I guess, but not good when I draw unit 34 bull in New Mex. and get charged $2800 for 4 tags. Anyone got any answers?

When we applied for Turkey permit and my son drew... The e-mail said that if the credit card did not go through the first time... they wiould try 3 more times over a 5 day period. This was for Utah!

I would call my credit card company. I think you can waive that security feature.

if lucky enough to draw they will run the plastic into the ground til its good (bout five time over a week) still if their a problem they'll call you and ask for a differant card then same thing if that card fails they'll give you 36 hour to next day an cc, bank check to them! Its really crazy how many times they try!

Call your credit card company now. Some have that feature on it and you need to request it be removed or you will take your business elsewhere.

In NM had a buddy that they only tried one time. Card got rejected and thus no tag.

I would say clear it with the CC before.

I guess thats why I've always used money orders , even for AZ elk . I couldn't handle it if I found out my card was rejected for some malfunction reason and no tag was given , wow , that just scared me ! Thanks for reminding me , its time to start putting some coins together....NMHUNTNUTT

I know that in New Mexico you are "up a creek". Last year my credit card company canceled my card and issued a new one because they thought someone had my card #. The only problem was that this was 28 days before the NM draw. I called and they wouldn't let me even change the number on my app. I will never no if I was drawn, they said if the card is rejected--you lose.

New this year.

If you have made a mistake on your electronic application, you can email the needed changes to:

[email protected]

The only catch is you must make your changes BEFORE the application deadline.

You should also probably check your expidation date on your card too and be sure it is not near the drawing.
