I have family around there and say there is quite a few good bucks. Any of You heard?

My uncle and cousin both drew it in 2005. They know the mountain pretty well. They hunted hard on foot and horseback and didn't find anything worth killing. Not to say there isn't any good bucks there, because there is. I just think there a fewer big bucks on the unit than some of the other units around the state. I've hunted the unit several times and have seen good bucks, but they were in some nasty places. But a few good ones are killed every year.

It is just like any of the other units. If you put your time in you will find good bucks, but this mountain is a little different than the others too. She is a bear like Legacy was saying. It is very rocky and rugged. Trails aren't the best and the deer aren't always where you expect them to be. The thing about this area sometimes is that the deer will go real low to feed on private farms, but this hunt is just on forest service land which is mostly the higher areas. You won't see huge populations of deer, but there are a few decent bucks. If you have better odds in the drawing I would suggest somewhere else. That's just me! For what it's worth. Good Luck!
