Bobcat,
I just got this picture from "fatrooster" and he asked me to post it for him because he has to put his computer in the shop for repairs. You had told him once before about the Buck called Walter that hung around the Pine Lodge in Lamoille outside of Elko. Drew went there and took a picture of the picture they have and here it is "just for you". Fatrooster will be back on line when he gets his "puter" back and up and running.

Thanks Killowatt for posting the picture. I still have my computer at work but I'm limited to what I can do on it and posting pictures is one of those things that I can't do.
Bessy, I had never heard the Walter story but since I started asking questions about him I've heard a lot. Seems like anybody thats been around here for more than 10 years has heard of him and they've all got similar stories but all are a little different. One story even told about a well known guy that lives here shot him. I'll have to research this a little more because I know this guy, vageley. Nevertheless, Walter was a nice buck whom I wish I could've seen and taken pictures of myself. Judging from the looks of the antlers at our local big buck contest every year I'd say that Walters offspring are running around reproducing. One of these days when my home computer gets fixed I'll post some pictures of our latest big buck contest. Thanks again for the Walter story.
Thanks again Killowatt for posting the picture. fatrooster.

I SEEN HIM A FEW TIMES ON THE HOOF!!!

NOT THAT BIG OF A BODIED BUCK BUT WHO EATS BIG BUCK MEAT ANYWAY,JUST KIDDING!!!

I ALSO HEARD THE JOKER WAS A LOCAL & FROM SPRING CREEK,DON'T KNOW IF ITS SO THOUGH???

THE ONLY bobcat HOPEING THE OFFSPRING IS STILL AROUND!!!

Guy's

Walter was killed in season with a area 10 tag by a local
that has land that runs right up to the back door of the Pine Logde. Drew, do you want to guess his name now? anyway, Said rancher shoots the buck and tagged him with one of his ranch hands kids tags. then takes it to be mounted.

Said rancher lost his hunting rights for 5 years, and ended up paying a large sum of money. Funny thing is that the following year the F&G was all over his ass to control the deer on his land because the Lammoille residents were beeing overrun by them. There was an article in the EDFP you may be able to locate it in the archives.

Nothing's impossible, you just might get lucky. If you don't want to draw this year you apply for a point only.

NVMDF2, nope I don't wanna guess anybody's name over the internet because half the time a guess is just that, a guess. I have no idea who J.S. might stand for and I don't know the rancher that ownes the land behind the Pine Lodge. Actually the person who I heard had shot it is not a rancher at all. Just a redneck who I've had a beer with a several times. But if he was poached then I'm glad that the poacher got in trouble if indeed he did no matter what his name is. fatrooster.

He is a poacher. The initials J.S. are correct. As a matter of fact he is the same #ick that gave me permission 12 years ago to hunt the upper end of his property during the archery season. The next day I shot a real nice buck and he or his wife tried to turn me in for shooting one of their "pet deer", they claimed I poached it. One of the local fish and game officers contacted me and I told him where I shot the buck, he went back, found where the deer had died and tracked blood back to where I had shot him and I was perfectly legal. So the SOB deserved more than he got. His buddy was even in the Pine Lodge bragging about it.

Nevadaguy, he sounds like a real idiot. Well its too bad that a great deer like Walter went down from the bullet of an arse like him. fatrooster.
