I now have 10 preference points, and want to make sure I don't waste basically a decade of waiting for a hunt of a lifetime. I would appreciate any insight on the best units/seasons. Thanks,

You do know that this year only, you get to keep the extra points not required to draw. Plus, any hunt that takes more than 5 for a resident has the nonresident quota dropped to 20%. You might think about going two years in a row to a 4-5 point unit.
I have 9 points. Would have had 10 but the first year I sent in double the money, so they did not award me a point. What a joke!? Anyway, I selected a unit and low and behold, I was told by a friend that this year Garth Carter plastered it as his 1st choice hunt in Archery, muzzleloader, & rifle! It was not rated previously.
By the way, can anyone that subscribes to Garth verify this? If it is true I will never draw this hunt now. This sucks.
Garth's Picks for Colo. Rifle is Unit 21 with 11 points. For Muzzleloaders, it is Unit 21 needing 11 points, these hunts are the 3rd season stats. On Archery, it shows Unit 21 as a Aug. 26-Sep 24th and 2 points with an * meaning that where NR will be limited to 20% of tags.
He does have Unit 21 marked as his #1 choice for deer in these different hunts.
