I would like to get afew opinions on units with 180+ inch buck areas. I have 6 points. Still not good odds for some units. Been thinking about units 111-113L rifle, 114-115 muzzle, 241-245 Rifle, and 221-223 rifle. Thanks for feedback.

If you pull the 111-113 Late, you can't lose. There are some tremendous bucks in the unit. Having said that, it ain't no gimmie for an exxtreme buck, so you better do your homework and scout your butt off. Be sure to pick apart the coolies and the jp transition zones. Good Luck!!

111-113L is not really a late hunt, its just the second half of the regular rifle season. If limited on time make sure to hunt the last days of the season. The big bucks can be easily seen in November after the season is over but you should start to see them at the end of the late rifle season. NDOW really hyped 114-115 muzzle last year but I don't think it lived up to expectations. 231 is a good suggestion as big bucks are always taken every year. It is a large area and will require some scouting. It could be very frustrating if you havn't hunted there before. I wouldn't recommend 241-245. For other areas, be careful of the season end dates. NDOW cut the last week off of the rifle hunt in many areas, which will make for much tougher hunting. NDOW's website has a wealth of information on sucess rates, antler points, draw odds, and specific information on where to hunt each area (hunter information sheets).

Any of those units you named have that potential and better.

Thanks for the info guys. I probably wont draw. But when you drop 1k into licenses to draw. Just wanted a few opinions. Thanks.

NVMULEY is right that all the areas you mentioned are good. I got 241-245 mixed up with 271-272. 241-245 is a good area(68% success, 57% 4-points or better) 271-272 is not(33% success). 241-245 is a very tough draw. I believe they only gave out 7 non-res tags last year and around 62 resident tags. For better draw odds you may want to look at 111-113 early. Don't be too put off by the low success rate (28%). Most people on the early hunt just drive the roads and shoot at small bucks. The big bucks are still up high and away from roads and ATV trails. You must be in excellent physical condition to hunt these bucks.
