Finally drew my tag!!!!! My son turns 17 this year and I have waited his entire life to draw my tag. Cool thing is that my dad also drew this year. He has put in each year since Utah started the draw and has never drawn an elk tag... This will be a September to remember!!!

I sure hope so. I know the unit very well. My wife had a Muzzy tag on Pahvant 3 years ago and she smoked a nice bull. I can hardly wait to get out in the hills and start taking pictures...

Congrats, that is a great unit to have a rifle tag on. I saw three legitimate 400+ bulls on the unit last year with my dad. He had a muzzy tag, so we did not come very close to taking them on his hunt. A rifle, two of the three were close enough to shoot. Although, they still would have to 400-600 yard shots.

I'm sure this will be one of the best camps on the hill, the question is who gets to shoot the largest bull first Dad or Son? I'm sure your friends helping you will take tips, plus when you kill your bull, they just may need to be helping your dad instead of packin:)

I am known to defer the first shot to my hunting partner. I even once called in a 65+ in Alaska Moose to 50 yards and passed so my good buddy elknut could have a chance at him the next day. I am sure there will be plenty of packin to go around. I am sure we will have a blast getting after the elk. I am working on Lu trying to get her to be the camp cook. If she agrees we will at least eat well :)
