N. Warner Muzzy Hunt?

Does anyone know why this hunt went away? It's been one of my goals for 6 years. I noticed they added a early youth rifle hunt in this unit. Is that why the late muzzy hunt is gone?

I'm not exactly sure why they deleted the hunt, the buck ratio might have dipped below the MO. They replaced it with the Silver Lake-Fort Rock muzzy hunt, which starts Oct 14. Since the rifle season ends on Oct. 11, I don't see it as a quality hunt.

The North Warner unit was cancelled due to the fact that the herd has declined. The Buck to doe ratio is still there but the overall population is way down. It was replaced by the Silverlake/Fort Rock hunt. The Youth hunt's dates were only changed from 3rd week in October to the Last week of September. It should help the kids out some on there success rates.

I am really gonna miss that North Warner Buck front stuff tag it was a good one. That Silver-Lake Fort rock hunt I am gonna wait and see it will either be a total bust or just insane as it is pre-rut week so I am not certain how it will pan out. There are 3 other hunts now that are real real good for Late season bucks those are 1. Juniper of course good luck there and it has went downhill as well. NE Whitehorse which I personally think is a great hunt. and Klamath Falls but you had best know the basin before going after it. But the bes tag IMO is the Hart Mountain Muzzleloader.

Dave, thanks for the reply. I'm several years away from the Juniper hunt but I'll just wait unless something else enters my sights.

Does Ore. ever reinstate a hunt like the N. Warner Muzzy hunt when conditions get better?

I remember a cow hunt I hunted twice with great success that went away. I applied elsewhere the next year and after the season I saw they had the hunt again after 2 years of no hunt. i guessed the herd objective was reached.
