COLORADO DEER DRAW, WHO GOT LUCKY

I just got off the phone with a lady at the CO DOW. I tried begging, bribing and pleading with her. She still didn't know if I drew. All I found out was that they were still on track to have the results posted tomorrow and we just need to keep checking. Don't worry about that! :)

This next day or so is going to be torture...

Good luck to all that applied.

Hey YD!

Not sure if 7 points will get me into 66 3rd season, but I remain hopeful. If I don't draw, next year I'm trying the 2nd season. Best of luck to all!

Torture, maybe for some.....I'll be sport fishing here in Maui for the next 12 days, so I'm coping!!!! Anxious to see results, but I think I'll survive!

Drew our first choice unit 22, 3rd season, 0 points. Although, we know of the increased oil field activity, we believe we'll have some fun.

No tag for me.I put in for unit 22 4th season with 5 points,i thought that would be enough for that unit quess not.

We got drawn for unit 22 second season.

My buddy drew unit 55Muz. Now I need a voucher for Archery or Muzzle. Oh he has 6 points left over so I think it took 5 to have a chance at that tag.

Well, I went in on a party app with a co-worker. We tried for a 2nd choice draw, hoping to keep our 4 NR BP's intact. We struck out trying for 75/751 3rd. Something like 525 deer tags [plus OTC elk hunters], so I reckon it was gonna be combat hunting at it's finest.

I applied separatly for the kid who managed to draw the 75/751 3rd season tag. Lucky little turd!!! [He also drew a youth limited Utah elk tag.] Don't think he can miss 2 weeks during his first year of high school. Right now I'm thinking of eating the $103 for the CO MD tag and gearing up for the Utah elk gig. I know if I ask for a refund he'll lose his BP's. I'm thinking I may return the tag [no refund] so someone else can hunt and consider it a $103 donation to CDOW. Sound like the right thing to do?

Just a bonus point. I wish they had the bonus point system in place last year. I would have been able to draw the same hunt two years in a row. Best of luck to all!

I drew!!! Wooo hooo!!! Unit 55 3rd rifle.

I'm so psyched I'm sweating! Waited 10 years for this. Amazing thing is, it only took 4 of my PPs to do it. I had 8 and still have 4 remaining. That new 4th season may have taken some of the demand away just like I figured. But I didn't figure it would take THAT much demand from the 3rd.

Praying for snow!

Now I REALLY have motivation to get in shape. Gotta start shooting and maybe invest in a new spotting scope. Wow... the plans swirling in my head are making me dizzy.

This will be the first time in 8 years I've hunted Muley's and the first time EVER I've hunted for Trophy Class Muley's. Somebody STOP me. !!! ;-)

Well we did not draw for either of the choices we tried for but figured that would be the outcome. Two of the others did get drawn for Deer in 85 2nd season for rifle as they had been invited to a ranch for deer, lucky "droppings".

Oh well, at least I will be coming to CO for the 4th season for Elk (either sex) in Nov. with a friend.

Drew 54 3rd, unit 20 Jan elk, Montana Combo,Already have New Mexico, waiting on Arizona, Nevada ! Now i have to explain to the wife ! Scary thought if i get either of those, Good chance in Arizona have 8 points both deer and elk !

I drew Unit 54 4th season. I'm pumped about the tag but with 14 ppts I thought for sure i would bank more than 1...I was thinking 8 or 9 to draw...not 13...my wife and dad drew 54 2nd season with 1 point...good scouting trip!!!

WE DREW, Unit 61 2nd season. Took us 7 points. Now to really get with the Nordic Track ski machine, the bike, the weights, etc. Got to get some more bullets loaded, long range practice. Lots to do. Congrats to all who drew.

Drew the 4th season mulie tag for unit 35. Took a decent buck last year during the 3rd season. Learned the area pretty well and am looking forward to less people too.

I'm in - drew my first choice for 3rd season units 18, 28, 37, and 371. I don't think I have enough vacation time from work between the deer, elk, ram, and goat tags. Guess I'll just have to quit my job.
Good luck to everyone on their hunts (and during all the preparations for their hunts)

Well, I drew 55 4th rifle, and my wife drew 55 3rd rifle. I'll use her hunt as a last minute scouting trip, but still plan to spend the time required to get her a good buck as well. I was amazed how few points the 3rd season required. At this rate, she can go back again next year! I almost wish I had put in for the third season as well No complaints, however.

Drew our muzzleloader tags for GMU 15/35/36, gunna give it a whirl and hopefully get lucky.....

Nothing for me. I figured 7 non-res. points would be enough for the 3rd season in unit 66. Looks like a lot more with 8 points thought the same thing. I'm pretty bummed because it's only a matter of time before Mother Nature deals the Gunnison Basin a brutal winter.

I think I used up all my luck with Wyoming elk. Good luck to all that have tags!

I thought I'd draw my first choice.....:( but I did get blessed with a 2nd choice draw, 3rd season 15,35,36 & 45. I hope I can get into some shooters this year.

Congrats to all of you who drew...:)

66 3rd nonres 8 points = nothing. I can't win this year, 4 states left but with my luck it looks like lots of chuckar hunting for me.

Drew my second choice 2nd season 18, 28, 37, 371. First choice was same hunt for 4th season. Hey Pointer, would you like to swap some info?

Dwalt Huntindude, What happened? 7 pts got it last year. Some of the 3rd season guys were suposed to move to the 4th season and let us in. I'm afraid to look at what it took for 4th season. My luck it only took 6 pts. well 7 pts should get me something soon. Pray for another mild, wet winter next year. Good luck to those who drew.

Howdy,

RATS, I didn't draw my first choice... 53 1st rifle, but I don't know about my second choice. That was a private land tag. Anybody know how this works???

9 long years of waiting are over for me!

I've drawn my first tag of any kind in Colorado.

4th season unit 551.

I had zero points banked. Time for me to do some research. I was really hoping to draw this year as I've heard the deer herd is in a big upswing.

I drew my archery tag, but this id the firt time in 3 years that myself, dad ane son did not draw one for the same rifle season and area we have hunted for years??????????x(

Seems like he would loose bonus points if he keeps the tag also, so I'm not sure that should be part of the consideration.

I drew with one point as NR for unit 62 2nd season with my Dad and Uncle.

My buddy and me drew 421 4th season. Looking forward to chasing rutting bucks around. We are from CA, but gonna get in one scouting trip to learn the area. Looking for an upper end buck. What's a shooter for the area?

just drew the 2nd season, but for only 2 years of putting in it sounds like its going to be a great hunt. travis

Expect to see some bucks in 150-160 class range with some in 170-180 range if you hunt hard. This is short season and if some snow comes you have a good chance at finding them.

Drew my cow tag (2nd season-74) and 4th season buck, 75.
