New here..Looks like a good site. I'm from PA and don't hunt
out west. I like reading stories and looking at the pics...Dreaming mostly. I'm in the process of planning my first mule deer hunt. I'm leaning toward Powder River Outfitters in MT. Anyone familiar with them?

Welcome, your handle sounds like your into turkeys. Me too.
I'm from Maryland so believe me when I tell you that you can gain alot of good info. on this site concerning western hunting.
I've never heard any bad info. about PR, but, check out their references to be safe.
Myself, I've hunted out west for elk twice. Once was a nightmare and the other was better, but, still not what I'd hoped for.
Check out your outfitter thoroughly before booking. Your guide can make or break your hunt.
I haven't scored on an elk yet, but, I'm optimistic that this 3rd trip will be the charm. No outfitter, this time, I'm hunting with another MM member and my faith in him is rock solid!!

Thanks to all for the welcome. I have checked the outfitter out pretty good and looks like a go for now. This will be in Fall of 07. So I have time to get lots of info on here!
