Have seen several pictures of the large nontypical killed by Randy Ulmer in Nevada this past season. Any idea what unit the deer was taken?

I looked on Hunt Nevada.com and there were only 2 Ulmer's that drew deer tags in 2005. Neither had the first name Randy.

He doesn't draw tags, he buys them.

We heard some strange things about that buck -- when and where it might have been killed -- from several locals during the elk hunt last year. Don't know if it's just sour grapes or what, but there sure was a lot of muttering going on.

Randy bought a land owner tag after he didnt get a tag through the draw as far as i can tell, his friend also killed a hugh typical in the same unit the year before.I just cant remember his name the story was in eastmans I think if you look him up and check hunt nevada again in 04 you will find the unit.

If I were him I wouldn't tell the whole world where I killed it either.

Randy Ulmers huge nevada non typical was taken in unit 231 The guy who guided him is Greg Chrough from Mogollon Rim outfitters . Gregs buck from the previous year ,was the largest velvet mule deer havested in the velvet ever . Because he chose to not strip the velvet , the pope and young record only stood for one year, now I may be wrong ,gregs buck may be #2 but who cares, go to his site,Mogollon Rim Outfitters and see the monster, and decide for yourself .The only guide i know of who can do better in that area is shane and john stevers of Purple sage outfitting pioche nevada wich you can see there last years harvest at purplesage .com pioche nevada

I also heard Ulmer's buck was taken in 231 though I believe Greg Krough's buck was taken in 221.

Both bucks are incredible. Both Ulmer and Krough are legendary in the hunting community and deservedly so based on their accomplishments.

THE KNOW GREG FROM THE ARCHERY SHOP I USE TO WOK IN, WE WILL NEVER NEVER KNOW WHERE IT CAME FROM.

Yes the old story loose lips sink big ships, It like Huntnfools newletter you buy it to see where not to put in for a tag.

But loose lips do increase landowner tag prices. And newsletter profits. The good/bad part of that depends on if you are a buyer/seller. If I were in a position to make big $$$ off of it, I would. You would too.

I think it is funny that with all the ongoing debates about which "new" camo pattern is the "best", Randy took that buck using "outfitters" camo.

Like I always say, the best camo is the one that is on sale! find the fabric that will serve your purpose the best, the pattern doesn't matter that much.

I will make this post quick and easy for you all to understand , Randy Ulmers buck was harvested by a group of individuals who dedicate there time to spotting ,stalking and harvesting trophy big game animals on public land, without encroaching on private properties.,Greg krough was the outfitter involved with the harvest of that MONSTER MULEY,Credit given where credit is deserved,If you work hard long enough ,good things will come to you. Just take a look at MOGOLLON RIM OUTFITTING.com, and you will see for youreself ,they are very good at what they do.

I would like to add to my post, about those bucks being taken private property, I was just joking when I put that in there & was hopeing it was obvious...

But I guess it wasn't, Yep envy played a roll, but I was joking?. those are some awesome deer, pick?s like that cause a short-circuit in my brain, so it came out the way it did?but sorry for that, My Bad?Manny
