Drew gmu 22 deer 2nd season, seeking any information advice about this unit I can get. Also thinking about a otc elk tag any recommendations? Thanks Richard

My friend shot a 5x5 bull out of 22 a few years back. We both thought it was a bit lucky. However a bull is not out of the question. Some nice bucks,spot spot spot the biggest we have taken were only 22inch spread and 23 inch spread 4x4's. Good luck hunt hard rest when your dead. Enjoy

Hey thanks for the reply and the information I have a few phone calls into the DOW office in Meeker hope to hear from someone there soon. Plan on calling BLM this week to get more maps and maybe some more info. I plan on spending about five days scouting before the season starts. I have a few old
BLM maps and it looks like there are roads every where. I'm going to try and pick 5 or 6 places before I get there and scout and glass these sights. Thanks for the size on the mule deer it gives me a standard to go from.

There is some good information on the CDOW website http://wildlife.state.co.us/NR/rdonlyres/EAE81697-A354-4074-9EAC-1C7FC6B5FE70/0/NW.pdf that talks about the different units and suggests some places to try. Unless you get early snows, it sounds like you should try and hunt high. There is going to be allot of oil field activity which may impact your hunt. We drew the third season and this will be our first time hunting unit 22.
