Guys a little help please on boots! I have danner Jackels, very light but non insulated. I am thinking of getting the silvis 8 inch super slam chuck adams signature boot,or the danner 8 inch pronghorn gtx, Irish Setter? ShadowTrek Boots for Men - Insulated. Or maybe something else that someone has used and works. Also I am on a budget. Want to stay at the 150 range. I will be hunting the higher elevations in October in northwest colorado. I know boots can make or break a hunt so please help.

meindl or lowa, you need to raise your limit to at least $200, as you said, boots can make or break the hunt. You spend 5 times more on the gun and the trip, why not buy a great pair of boots like the meindl or lowa. . . You can buy the meindl from cabelas, and lowa on line, but you better hury, they sell out fast durring hunting season!

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

I have the Rocky LYNX boots and they are so comfortable and well built! Lightweight and offer great support! I would buy anouther pair in a heartbeat! You can get them with 800 grams thinsulate and Gore-tex for around $100 from Cabelas! Don't try and wear them on a mid-August hunt! You get seat right out of them....I tried them last year on an early bowhunt!
