Went archery hunting the first time ever this weekend in CO. Got to a spot at 9 am and decided to put up my Montana decoy. I set it up about 10 yds from where I'd be sitting. I literally got the 2nd stake in the ground and looked up to see a 5 pt. bull had snuck in to within 50 yds in the open meadow below me. It was like instant elk! I was behind the decoy and of course I looked over to my sitting spot where my bow was and just kind of laughed. The bull was totally locked in on the decoy and started to come in more. I had no choice but to make an attempt to get back to the bow so I layed back, then belly crawled around to the blind where my bow was. I think he pegged me though as he'd glance at the decoy then over towards me. As he got nervous, he to trot off before I could get to my bow. It was great fun and never will I walk away without the bow again!
