Just got back from my first of many scouting trips to E. Oregon, did not see a deer. Did see some nice Antelope bucks and a rattle snake but that was it. Hopefully the rest of you are having success scouting.

Good Luck

Slide,
Not very promising. I'm trying to get up to scout west of Owyhee Reservoir. Please tell me your scouting trip wasn't in that neck of the woods. Blixen

I scouted/shed hunted my area about a month ago - I hunt around Middle Fork of John Day. My little area actually looked really good this year - the range is in great shape, saw lots of deer and they looked healthy so will keep my fingers crossed that it will be a good season. Good luck to all.

No fellows you are safe I was North of Lakeview, did see some -sign but no deer. I'm going to try and go back not this weekend but the next one (if the ol lady lets me). Good luck and I hope you fella's have some success.

Slide,
I went out to the Strawberry Wilderness looking for elk and all I kept seeing was nice bucks. No elk! Took some pictures of some of the bucks, but they are to blurry to see. Good luck!!

Which unit did you draw for this year North Warner, Juniper, or Wagontire. Let me know maybe I can give you a few ideas as I have no one if you drew wagontire or Northwarner. As far as South Juniper have to help the clients with that one.

Dave,
I'm sorry it took so long to respond, this is the first time I have had time to sit down at the computer. My father and I drew the Wagontire unit for Muley's. Any Info. would be appreciated, we are heading back over there next weekend, going to do some hiking and glassing. Hopefully this time we can spot some deer and no SNAKES.

Thank you

My daughter drew the North Warner youth hunt. From what I'm hearing the population is low there also. I knew that when she put in but surely it can't be as bad as the east slope of the Steens last year?
