My wife drew the muzzleloader elk tag this year(6 points). I live on the other side of the state and am planning on spending the whole hunt on the mountain if needed looking for a good bull. Any recomendations? Locations that i need to spend time in? Contacts for keys? I've got access to horses, but am planning on doing a lot of glassing and hiking!
I've spent time up there off and on my whole life, but haven't spent much time up there the past couple years.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ophir, great spot to look. and it's excellent since you have horses. Good luck, let me know if ya need some help.Brian

Thanks bowhunterb_3.............

Planning on spending a lot of time up there looking around.
If you are available to help out your always welcome.
Another set of eyes is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I agree on Ophir Canyon. I had my son up near the head last year for spike. We never spent a day without seeing at least 5 bulls, and many of the days we were seeing different elk. I'm no expert on field judging but did see one that would go 340 or better comparing it to what I see on here.

Thanks for all of the assistance.
We look forward to coming up and chasing some elk around. Hopefully we will be blessed and lucky enough to harvest a good bull...
We will be spending some time up there with the kids. My oldest boy's birthday is the day before the hunt(he claims to be our guide..he's only 9). He told me the only gift he wants is a big bull. So hopefully a good bull will hit the ground before he has to return to school.
Photos will be posted!

Thanks again..
