Nevada Unit 22 Muzzleloader

My 16 year old son drew the Muzzle deer and elk tags on Unit 22 in Nevada. Can anyone help me with some good information on this Unit? Where should we start looking? What can we expect in this Unit?

I've never hunted that unit for deer, but there is some good information on the NDOW website. Go to their Hunter Information Sheets and it will give you a good idea of where to start. Here's the link.

I believe the muzzle season is in september, so that's good advice about hunting close to water. Also, make sure your in position to glass well before 1/2 hour before sunrise.

Congrats on drawing both tags. 22 is a great area. I'd start on the cattle and horse camp loop. I believe thats what it is called. Find water and go from there. Good luck

unit 22 is a great hunt,in fact it is the unit in wich the state record was hervested and also where greg krough harvested the #2 archery world record , both bucks are typicals over 200,my freinds guide out of pioche and have talked about seeing really good bucks this year.You and youre son should have a great time as well as being able to see alot of deer . 22 is also a great elk area so take youre cameras .

GREAT AREA, FOR DEER I WOULD GO TO CAVE VALLY STAY CLOSE TO THE WATER, LOT OFF GOOD BUCKS COME OUT OFF THERE HUNT LOW IN TALL SAGE.FOR ELK LOOK ON TOP THAT HILL THERE SOME GOOD ONES, GOD LUCK.
