My 17 year old son had recently drew unit 52 in Idaho. We just found he also drew the chiwawa unit in WA.--in our own back yard. 2 great rifle tags... We are set in Idaho, a friend had of mine had the super tag last year and spent 4wks in 45 and 52. We will have a great time in our home state. During the regular season last year I saw 10 nice 4 points in this unit and missed a toad. We will be to post pics.. Lots of luck to all.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-12-06 AT 05:26PM (MST)[p]wow great draws.how many points for Chiwawa? Chiwawa is a great unit. A friend of mine had a tag there a few years back and we had a blast. 76 bucks in one day of hunting or (driving) what a great unit. good luck to your son on both tags.

HE HAD 6 POINTS. It will be interesting to see which unit will produce the biggest deer. I really think we will see a few monsters in 52. But I know we will see a ton of bucks in the chiwawa, with a few exceptional bucks. It is nice for a kid to have a great opportunity--it will make him a good hunter down the road. But most of all, a lot great stories and memories of our season together.

Brian,
Hows it goin? I was gonna say something about Ky drawing those two tags, but I figured either you or Ky would pop on here sooner or later. Best of luck and if you need another "packmule" on that Chiwawa hunt let me know. I'd love to go watch Ky shoot a monster.

You guys must be extreamly rich to put in for all those hunts. Not very many of us in Utah could do that.

338boy, it wouldn't be all that hard. It's like $10 to put in for special tags per species in WA (residents, which they are), and I don't know about Idaho, but there are tons of people out there who do this on a budget.

338boy,we usuallly put in a hunt or 2 each year. In Idaho a youth NR deer tag and lic is only $25 and $400 for me. Here in Washington our total hunting lic is around $100. So its not to bad. Believe I'm not rich. Thats why these forums are great, the info and tips exchanged can save us some bucks... I do have 7 LE elk bonus points and Ky has 5.in Utah. If we get lucky enough to draw one of the units for elk in Utah I would feel rich. Lots of luck.
