New Mexico unit 38

I need some help from the experts. I struck out again on my Unit 2 draw but, I have an opportunity to go on a reasonably priced private land hunt in NM unit 38. What type of quality should I expect? Mass? inside width? numbers of bucks? I want to make sure my days off hunting are spent in an area with a reasonable trophy quality. Thanks in advance!

38 is a pretty good muley unit with above average deer numbers. Most private ranches have great deer numbers and can be a very fun hunt. As with all hunting , there is always that chance of finding that monster , but 38 is more a unit where 24-28 inch bucks are exceptional, and you should see quit a few deer and alot of younger bucks in the 18-22,23 inch area.I also drew there , it was also my 3rd choice(2 was also my 1st&2nd choice), I'll be there for the muzzle loader hunt and can't wait as its just a real fun hunt.
Ask the rancher for past clients info , if they have nothing to hide , they will gladley share that info , he or she probly has pictures . I say if its affordable , go for it , you will deffinately be in deer ...
