Well did'nt draw this year:-( so some friends and I are thinking of doing the High buck hunt. With mod fire deer starting the next day after muzzle elk, which we hunt, don't think we can swing the general season for deer. wondering if any of you gentlemen out there have had any luck up on top of the state? the success rates don't look very encouraging on the WDFW site. But it is some beautiful country and I know there's got to be some nice animals up there some were:D
Thanks
David

I've been on the high hunt a few times. I shot a smaller 3x4 a few years ago and have passed on some other bucks that were also not real big. Best bet is to be out real early and cover the meadows right below the ridges.

Not the easiest hunt in the state, that's for sure. Can be good or really bad, pretty weather dependent. Pretty much anywhere in the high country is going to have deer in it, just don't count on seeing them if the weather is hot.
