LAST EDITED ON Jul-25-06 AT 09:40AM (MST)[p]Well, I got skunked this year in AZ so I decided that I am going to try my luck in Utah this August. My dad just bought a cabin on Cedar Mountain (up right hand canyon) and I plan on staying there during the hunt. I haven't hunted Cedar area in ten years, and I have never done it during the archery hunt. For all you locals, any help and advice would be much appreciated. Is there any area with good bucks and not a million hunters? I don't know how crowded it is in the archery hunt. Both of my parents are from Cedar City but they moved here to AZ like 35 years ago. Any of you guys that graduated from Cedar High in like '65 or so probably know them. Anyways, if you guys could help a guy out that has roots in southern Utah, that would be great!

30_378shtr, Cedar mountain is a good place to bowhunt, however there are not deer everywhere. You will need to do some scouting early in the mornings or late in the evenings. Take some dirt roads off of Hwy 14. and I think you will find what you are looking for. I'd be more specific, but I also hunt that mountain.

Good Luck
Mike

There are a ton of deer up right hand! Problem with that area is it's all private--so, depending on how much land you have you should either stay put or start scouting public land.
