My Dad drew this tag for late Oct. I will be going with him to help so I have been researching the area a bit. Neither one of us have been to this area. We have talked to a few outfitters but would rather do it on our own. If anyone would be willing to share some info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jeremy

I will send you an IM once I get looking at my maps more. I drew the west side tag this year and will be up there the same time. I have hunted on the east side during the archery hunt and ran into some real nice ones. But it was several about 5 years ago. And earlier in the year. I just started going over my maps last night so give me a day or so. Later, Orlin

Not trying to self promote, but...check out my website at http://www.KeyToTheKaibab.com. I've compiled a lot of resources for hunting the Kaibab and update the site as often as I can with new info and products specific to the area. If you'd like to talk off line send me an email and I can also get you some more specifics. Good luck!

Bruce is right on. You dont need alot of maps, just go down the main dirt road and get into the burn area from this "warm fire" the fire is plenty early enough that there will be tons of food/new growth. Kinda like your own food plot to hunt over..........LOL>......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Thanks allot guys!! I am really looking forward to this hunt (even though it's not my tag) that burn sounds like the ticket. We have had great success on our local deer here in California using the burns to our advantage. Again thanks, Jeremy

I got to thinking about you and thought your best bet is to call someone who is an authority on the Kaibab. Call Duwane Adams 520-385-4995 and talk over your hunt. He has a map service he provides that can line out good areas marked on the map, notes of access routes and where him and his guides are seeing big bucks. You dont want to waste this chance at a monster so a few bucks for a map service may be the least money you spend. You will probably save as much on wasted trips and gas in your truck. by calling him for his service.................... Thanks, Allen Taylor......
