Headed for the Trinity Mountains on Oct 19 for Mule Deer. What might I expect for snow, and animals, in that area. My first time hunting there and am curious as to what feedback I might get for Mule Deer populations in that area.

Thanks

Lot's of people hunt the Trinity area so, be warned. Weather? You can expect highs ranging from 50-70 and lows down to 20 or so. The weather can be so unpredictable. Hopefully, you'll get lucky and get snowed on.

Get away from the main roads, try to find some USFS trails and go back a minimum one mile. On some days I have seen many deer, on others none. There are some nice bucks in the area. Glass the sage and open areas early!! and keep a close eye on the timber line right after dawn, the big ones will head that way. During the day find the timber and hunt 100 ft inside it parallel to the open & sage areas.

You should find something in that area. Good luck!!

Ditto what patience said. There is a good chance you'll see snow up high so be ready for that. Definitely get off the roads as there are a lot of people that hunt that area, but there are a lot of deer as well. With a little work you will have a decent chance at a nice buck. Great area IMO.

I sent you a PM too.
