I was just wondering how many of you tag holders closed the deal. I know a kid that had the muzzy tag they said they could not find the elk that they were all pushed into idaho from the rifle hunter's.

I had the tag on the Idaho side of the border and they were tough to find there as well. The elk were around but with it being so hot and them not bugling at all it makes them tough to find

My son has a tag on the Id side and it was tough going last weekend. Were trying it again tonight. Last weekend we were on franklin basin.

I had that tag in 2007 and it was a tough hunt. We did find a few elk but they were pretty quiet. I have had a harder time finding elk on the Idaho side than I have on the Utah side, but for some reason I just can't give up on it because I'll be back up there on the 15th for the Idaho opener. Love hunting that kind of country along the border.

I had a tag on the North Cache this year. I hunted all 9 days. Left camp before sun up and got back after dark. Wow, what a hard hunt. I saw two shooter bulls, but never got close enough. The hot days and the full moon every night sure to make it hard. I didn't fill my tag, what a bumber.

I would like to here where your buddy got the 362 bull if you know and want to PM me. I had a bull that I thought would go 360-370 under 75 yrds for 2hrs and broadside at 30 yrds during the archery hunt. Unfortunatly he only gave me his back half to shoot when he was broadside so I passed. Got a quartered away shot at 45yrds as he walked away and I hit a stick :( Was the most beautiful symetrical bull I've ever seen that carried his mass all the way to the top. In 12 days I had 5 320+ bulls under 30yrds, but it was thick where they were and I could not get open shots. VERY tough hunt with little bugling. We hunted twice as deep as the other hunter that were there and were into elk every morning and evening, just real tough to get a shot at a bull.
