Have a chance to buy a 3rd season tag that would allow me to hunt 41, 42, and 421. Anybody know the quality of animals or if it would be worth buying. The cost of the tag is 1000. My buddy said they saw some monsters last year and that I would have no problem shooting a 160 buck. I trust my buddy, but he is the person trying to sell me the tag. He has bought a tag and will be going as well just wanted to know if anyone else knew anything about these units.

Thanks

THATS TOO MUCH $$$ FOR THAT TAG. ITS BEEN HAD FOR 400 /500 BUCKS THE LAST TWO YEARS, I DID SEE SOME NICE BUCKS IN THOSE UNITS/ BUT I WAS ELK HUNTING. GOOD LUCK, YD.

There are some good deer in these units but it is hunted hard and you will have lots of company. There is some hard to get to land on the east and west edges of 42 that may be good. I myself would not spend 1,000.00 for a 3rd season tag when you can draw it with 0 preference points next year. I would pass on this but if you are hard up to hunt you can do a lot better than the price you have been quoated. Ebay had the same tag for 600 a few weeks back. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. That being said does anyone know where I can get this tag cheeper or another decent tag for around 1000-1200 dollars. Struck out on all the draws and would really like to go hunting somewhere doesn't matter the state.

Tell your buddy you will give him $600 for the tag.
He'll probably go for it if he cant sell elsewhere.
I 2nd the leftover licenses, there is a few good ones left.
Jeff

everyone keeps saying there is okay leftover permits but so far no one wants to give specifics I don't want your hunting spots just a unit.

Well I would recommend Zone 43. I have seen great muleys in that zone and its a good zone. Lots of public land and shouldn't be to over hunted. Also the deer are at lower elevations year round so you don't have to kill yourself to get to them.
