Doe or buck? Archery, muzz or rifle? If rifle, which season are you interested in hunting? 2nd 3rd or 4th? I don't mean to be rude but I really doubt you will get much help from anyone without doing a little research on your own and having a solid starting point. Here is a link to the CDOW website that will help you get started. Figure out what type of hunt you want and be more specific when you ask for information. That should greatly increase your chance of getting some help.

Sorry, have already done some research should have said that. 3rd season rifle is what I am looking at. Just need some pointers on where to start, want to try a new state besides utah and saw there was some leftover tags in this area. Can't hunt 2nd season because it interfers with my wifes utah hunt. I see Meeker Colorado is in between units 12 and 23 would that be a good spot to hunt out of or is there any good spots to pull a trailer and ATV'S too. I know there probably isn't any monster's in these units but anything over a 16" four point would be a improvement for me. Looking at some maps I don't see to much access for these units. Would it be worth my time to call the Meeker DOW? We would be spending the whole hunt out there and just to know if its worth the drive. To me and dad just seeing a good amount of deer, good scenery, and being together would do that. Not looking for any secret spots just some general ideas about the third season hunt.
Thanks

Armybrat,
I don't have any information on the units. But your best move would be to get ahold of the biologist for the area you want to hunt. It may take them a little while to get back to you, but it has been my experience that they will point you in the right direction depending on what type of hunt your looking for. I saw that you were interested in a 3rd season tag for 41,42,421. My buddy and I have tags for 421 4th. From the research that I've done, this looks to be a very promising hunt. If you can get a tag for the right price you might not want to rule 41,42,421 3rd season out. I would shop around a little, I'm sure that there are some out there for less than $1000. Good luck.

Try Ilses Grove just south of Hamilton also Monument Butte,it will be crowded but thire are some bucks like you asked about. I have hunted there twice and had opertunities both times Good Luck have fun thats what its all about

I hunted that same hunt last year and was very fortunate to harvest a nice buck. I spent all of my time hunting between meeker and hamilton. Jenson swa and monument was where I focased all of my time.It can be a good hunt as long as you are not affraid to walk a bunch and stay out all day. I saw most of the deer in the mid morning to early afternoon hours. PM me if you have any questions.
