Okay boys, now that some of you have been out tromping the hills I want to see some pics!!!

The first guy to throw up a picture of his (or her) 2006 Utah archery deer will get a "Never Enough Western Big Game" DVD.

How was the hunt? Let's hear about it.

I hear rumor the Nomad buck was spotted......

I know we are only in the first day of the hunt, but I too am geting antsy to see the results!!! Good luck to all you archers out there....hope you kill some bigguns....but PLEASE leave me just one for the rifle season!! :)

A good friend of mine woke me up this morning with his buck. What a TOAD! We rough scored it at 187. Just a big typical 4x4. He shot it 5 minutes into the hunt. If it was mine I would post a pic but I can only dream on this one. I did talk to my brother today and he said that he had several bucks under him today and 2 guys in their camp shot bucks. He also said it looked like the 4th of July weekend out there with all the campers and 4 wheelers.

I have pictures of hunters right under my stand. They sure as hey were beating the brush early this year. I was expecting a peaceful morning on the front, with everyone else off on some general season area. It seems everybody in northern Utah wanted to hunt the same canyon as I did today :)

Packed in a bit to get away from folk, and that worked until about noon, then the world seemed to come into the basin we were hunting. Did have a good morning hunt. Put a really good buck to bed, my buddy started the stalk while I watched. Wind swirld and the buck and his buddy blew out of there. The went up and out a chute, I figured I knew where they would be going, so I busted around the mountain and caught them coming down a slide. Knew they would come through some scrub pines. Took 10 min. but here they came. I ranged the first buck at 53 yards, steep down hill. I figured the 40 yard pin and I was golden. Just about to shoot the 25" 3X4 when out came the bigger buck, really nice tined 4-point. I let them come right out into the open, drew back gave a little squeak. They stopped and I let it go. Just a bit high. I was sick, what went wrong? Well, I ranged where they were, 35 yards. I guess they were coming up the hill towards me from the time I first ranged. Oh well, that is how it goes. Would have been my biggest buck with a bow. Had a great time, and saw lots of deer, more than usual, so that was nice. Loved being out again. Hope you all had a good time.

Sounds like there's a few deer running around, which is always good to hear.

Man, it's great to know another hunting season is finally here!

I can't believe nobody has posted a pic of deer yet.......

I know all about missing critters....I just missed an antelope:(

Nice buck Travis! I saw 8- 3 points or better bucks on Saturday. I was within 25 yards of 4 of them bedded. When I accidently spooked them I missed a decent 4x4 walking from my left to right. He zigged when I thought he was going to zag and my arrow passed by his rib cage as he inadvertantly passed left when I expected him to go right down the trail. O well, the hunt is here and I am stoked! Good luck to you all!
