I was looking at all the oldtime photos here and my jaw dropped when I saw this old photo. It was submitted by Matt Anderson who said he found it in an old photo album. He said it was a photo from a Colorado newspaper back about 1960.

Surely somebody knows about this buck. I sure would like to hear the story, score etc. Thanks. And forgive me if it's old ground. It's an age thing with me!:)

ONE MORE THING!!!

THATS JUST LIKE THE BUCK I DIDN'T SEE TODAY!!!

THE ONLY bobcat!!!

I heard that it was cut up for knife handles years ago. I heard that the deer was from Oregon but Colorado makes more sense.

I would suspect that it was found dead instead of being killed. Look at the state of the head/skin/etc. Could be they just cut off the head though and didn't take the picture for awhile but that doesn't seem too likely.

txhunter58.....you might be right, but if I killed that buck in 1960 I would still be haulin' it around in the back of my truck, showing it off, 46 years later! LOL!

Maybe cut up into knife handles? They should have at least made axe handles out of it!:)

Don't rule it out because of the state of the skin and head. My grandpa would just throw the heads of deer that he killed on top of his shed. I remember seeing many deer heads that looked just like that. Very few did he ever bring indoors and not a one did he ever take to the taxidermist.

It could be the number 3 nontypical from Colorado. It was at Vern's for a while before it burned down. Someone should check the B&C books.
