Purchased a land owner tag in this unit anyone have any info about what toexpect it starts nov.6 I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About 1200 cow elk hunters, 400-600 bull elk hunters and all the deer hunters.........

Stay on the LO private ground if at all possible..........

West side of the valley has the most public ground......

Make hotel reervations well in advance in Carbondale or Glenwood Springs...

Sorry for your misfortune. Landowner tag in 43. WOW, I'd start knowcking on some doors ASAP.

Hey KY,
Why would you ever get that tag??? You are screwed unless you got someone up there who knows it up and down and can get you in the oak grove bucks.

There are good bucks killed in 43 every year. By the third or fourth season they will be down in the oak brush. Many head to private land, but I know of two big bucks (28" and 30") killed last year on public and a bigger one seen. Most of the deer pour out of the high country north into the brush country when the snow flies. Go a couple of days early to find the elevations where the deer are.

Rackem: Even a blind hog finds a acorn now and then, and it better to be hunting a crappy deal then no deal. With that said get there a few days early and find where they come down out of the high country and hope for snow around opening day, I hope to see a 180 class buck with your tag on him, Good Luck.
