CWD Trophy Question

IF, I am lucky enough to tag a buck in October and I decide I want a Euro mount, can I legally take the skull out of Colorado and across New Mexico with all the CWD scare? All I have seen seems to imply you could only take the skull plate. Is that correct or could I take the whole skull. The unit I will be hunting in is not considered a CWD unit. I looked at the Colo. and NM websites but did not find a definite answer.

You might want to call NM G&F and ask them. Chances are you can take the skull, however, it will need to be completely clean of all tissues, meaning your Euro mount will have to be done and completed in CO before you take it into NM.

I had our local Game Warden Captain do some checking. Seems like if I'm legal taking the skull out of Colorado then New Mexico and Texas don't care. As far as I can tell from the Colorado proclamation, as long as the unit is not a CWD unit then the whole head can be taken out. Does anyone know any different?
