Any one have much experince with seeing lots of non-typical bucks might help me. This is obviously a young buck. With all the cluster around the base of his horns will he be a good non-typical in a few years or is something wrong with him? I saw one last year in my same area that just had big clusters and no long points at all. There are genetics of cactus buck in the area too. Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry it is a bit fuzzy. I was taking pictures through my spotting scope.

That looks like an older doe to me. I know the brisket looks wide, (and the body large) but look at the face, and markings on face. I have seen (2) SIMILAR does with horns taken before, very like this one. Just a guess, again, look at the face.

I think Idaho's right. Im nearly posotive it is a doe.

life IS good (even when BOBCAT sees this thread and I never here the end of how I murder 3 deer with one shot, and then some more about the "Trophy Doe" contest)

Thanks for the feedback. It was with two young bucks and some does. It was sparring a little but and rubbing his/her antlers on the corn stalks. I though maybe just a real young buck?? But the face sure looks like a doe to me too. Oh well not a big deal. One way or the other he/she won't be seeing my tag for a 3 or four years anayway.

I was thinking doe with horns as well, is it a white tail, or a muley (looks like a whitey to me). I had a uncle kill a doe with horns several years ago I think it was a big crooked spike by nothing, I also killed a 4x4 cow elk with horns, and have only ever herd of one other elk that was a 6x6 killed in oregon(I think), but I have herd of several deer like this.

Has anyone else ever herd of a cow elk with horns.

It does look like a doe to me as well.
Here is a young non-typical that will get more trash and larger as he ages.
