Those of you headed to E. Oregon to hunt this weekend, has anybody heard if we are going to get any storms? Just curious, I'm headed over there Thursday and was wondering if we might get any storms in the next week or two?

Good luck to all of you headed out.....

Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate you responding to my thread. It sure would of been nice to get some rain or at least cooollll weather. Oh well were still hunting so who cares!!

Thank you again and good luck Muley Man......

Slide,

We have got plenty of rain and some places snow. It was unseasonably cold the last two weeks and just got warm again on saturday. Usually it doesn't rain before deer season so it still maybe warm but at least we had some moisture.

Thank you Lost, it sure would be nice to get some of that weather during the season.

Good luck Lost I hope succcess is on your side....

Hey fellow oregonians I'm also heading to eastern oregon thursday. What unit are you guys heading to I'm going to Paulina Unit. Ya some rain would be nice, three years back I think it was we had some snow fall on the 2nd day in to the season in Paulina for buck deer, it really got the deer moving. I was just on the oregon department of fish and wildlife website and it show the buck to doe ratios and fawn survival for last winter, and hunter success rate, its some pretty good info on all the units. I'm pretty excited that paulina has a 1 buck to 5 doe ratio. Also info on other species

My father and I are headed to the Wagontire unit, hunted that unit 4yrs ago and did well hoping we can do that good again. We have made 4 trip's over there scouting and have only seen 2 does and a spike. We will be there Thursday night.

Good luck to everbody....

Headed to the Desolation Unit with my dad, we leave Friday morning to our usual spot- which I hope didn't burn up in the fire they had about a month ago. When I scouted the area back in June the deer really looked good this year so really looking forward to it, this will maybe be my dads last year to hunt so would like to see him get one. Good luck to all - have a good hunt.

Oregonmuley, my father is also getting up there probably only a few more years of tough hunts left in him, so I understand what you are saying. I wish you and your father all the luck in the world and enjoy the time, enjoy the time.. It's hard when your father is the one who taught you and took you and showed you and now it's our turn to return the favor to them.

Good luck I really hope you have a nice hunt....

I'd rather not have any rain....there's more than a few Eastern Oregon roads that immediately become impassable.....

Metolius Unit, going opening day for really just another scouting expedition, and try to get a feel for what the other hunters are doing, then going back for the last 5 days of the season to pound it hard. Probably get rid of 75% of the pressure by then.
