What did everyone think about those units this year for the archery hunt? If you had to choose one what direction would you go?

From being on the Boulder for 19 days in september and the Beaver for 2 days I would 100 percent say the Beaver. What I saw on that unit as far as quality in the 2 days was far better than the overall quality on the boulder. I was in elk everyday on the boulder, moving from 10,000 ft. to down low and I saw a lot of bulls, just nothing worth the amount of points you need to burn to get drawn. Not saying that beaver is much easier to draw but I will say in my opinion that the boulder is way down from where it used to be.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-30-11 AT 09:14AM (MST)[p]I have spent alot of time on each and would say that the Beaver is head and shoulders above the Boulder. More big bulls on the Beaver and easier to hunt them also.

What is the general opinion of the late hunt?
I'd have a much better chance at actually drawing that tag!

I hunted last year rifle hunt with a friend on the Beaver Unit. I talked with a couple archery hunters and locals that live in Beaver. The sucess rate for archery was terrible. Elk were not as vocal. I only know of a couple guys that filled their tags. It would be a fun hunt. Good luck.
