i heard there was a humongous buck shot. supposedly 25x26. 10" bases. possibly the new #2 non-typical. anyone else heard anything? my buddy's dad saw a picture of it and said it is amazing.

Yeah, me & Cass saw that one & decided to pass on it, it had weak eyeguards, or we might of let the hammer down on it.
You should have seen the bull we saw right after that, I'd tell you about it, however you'd probably just $hit yourself.

Saw pics. 222, not 231. it's freakin giant, score I was given is 304. 200" frame. We will have to see what mag. gets this one.

The hunter is a good friend of mine. Just talked to him about his hunt a few days ago. He was guided by the Marques brothers. The buck was taken with a muzzleloader. I believe it is 25x27 scoreable points, 6" at the base, 38" outside and was green scored at 290-305 depending on how some of the points are scored. The buck did have one small testicle. That's about all I can say at the moment and pics are out of the question for now. MIKE

LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-06 AT 09:30PM (MST)[p]true story, I am here in pioche muzzy hunting with my nephew and freinds .The deer was harvested in unit 22,guided by Bull ridge outfitters. .Now, the only real confusion is weather it is what I have heard,22x20 this morning and 25x27 at dinner time.No matter what it is around 300 inches ,

I will promise you right now that the story of this buck has not been bought by muley crazy. If I have time monday I will count the points for you. No, I didn't shoot it.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-06 AT 09:38PM (MST)[p] you can actually see the score sheet on this buck on bull ridge guide services mule deer photo page.25x27 , 306" , WOW.

D13er, you are absolutely correct!
I believe the point differences are because there are so many points and they need to have an official scorer figure it out. By the way the hunter is a B&C scorer but I don't think he wants to put a tape on it.
MIKE

Are most of you aware that cactus bucks are not accepted by B&C? Regardless of what it tapes it will never be eligible for B&C. That doesn't alter the fact that it is a huge buck and a great trophy..

Wow!
Nothing gets past MM!
Very unique trophy.
I still would rather shood a big clean typical.
I just have never cared much for freak antlers.
Thanks for postin it up!

WHAT A FREAK!!

I'm with HH. I'd take a big clean typical over that anyday, but its a GREAT buck none-the-less.

That's one ugly buck! I'd shoot it, but wouldn't be 2 darn excited about it... lol

any of you out there who are so great at hunting trophy mule deer and say you would not shoot this buck ,lets see youre most recent deer .I too love typical deer , but, If I had a chance to harvest this non typical , abso fn lutely,I would. And would be proud of it.This buck is very unique,I have seen some similar, but this is a once in a lifetime deer that most of us dream about.

I agree with fldrw22, if any one of you had the choice to shoot a 185 typical 4 point or shoot this absolute monster, i am pretty sure none of you would shoot the 4 point, because all of you are just like me and want the biggest one and this buck is for sure the biggest one and i would not hesitate to shoot this over a stupid 4 point.

Congrats to the hunter, that is one of the greatest bucks in a long time.

No doubt it is huge.

Blonde,Brunette or Redhead?

I've passed on a monster cactus buck before...not my cup of tea nor was i willing to use my tag for one either

Well, I'll be one of the "odd ball" ones.......I'd send an arrow at it ANYDAY! :) Once in a lifetime buck...congrats to the hunter.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-01-06 AT 06:06PM (MST)[p]Manny , where exactly are you hunting ,to be able to be comfortable in passing on such a buck in hopes of one better .

To each their own, I guess. That is a buck of most hunters dreams, including this one. Congrats to the hunter!! Most will never even get the opportunity to SEE a buck like that.

didn't mean to make it sound like an insult, but it was many years ago in NV.

I'm sure Cass has been watching this one for years. Probably had him named. Would have killed him except he to make a trip to the tool box, if you know what I mean. :)

NVBig: Are you sure you didn't mean tool shed? hehe

Hell, I'd whack that buck so quick if I had the oppurtunity. Hey guys, the buck is one in a half a million. Looks like he might challenge the current SCI world record of Steve Smiths!

Ok,Ok....
I must have come off sounding like an ass, I'd shoot it in a minute.
It is bigger than anything I'll ever see in my life on the hoof.

I've been privilledged to hold the biggest bucks in the world and I guess it's jaded me.
I'm just partial to prettier racks.
Guess I need to gracefully bow out of this one.
5:00am and I'm off to Arizona.

Hold down the fort guys!
