UT expo tag?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-08-11 AT 07:56PM (MST)[p]I know that they auctioned off 4 Pahvant tags and 5 San Juan tags at the expo. Did any of those tags come out of the Conservation Tag pool? I count 6 Pahvant and 5 San Juan listed on the DWR website list. I guess we still have landowner tags and expo draw tags too. Just trying to figure out how many people will be on the mountain on top of the regular draw tags.

3 of the SJ tags were landowner tags--choose your season. One was a ML tag one was an archery tag (both conservation tags)

How much did they go for? Did the landowner assoc. donate the tags to the SFW or were they auctioned by SFW for them?

Just curious how all these things work down there

They all (LO vouchers) went for 19k. I'm guessing that the LO assoc. does a 90/10 split with SFW but don't know for sure. Archery and ML tags went for 11k each.

$11k for the archery and ML!!! Maybe someday when I'm old and brittle.

Looks like they picked the right place to do their auction

Do the landowner tags get to hunt with the public hunters on public land during the regular hunts or do they work differently? just curious, don't really know the difference between the two.

Land owner vouchers are turned into the DWR for a unit wide public land tag with the same dates as everyone else. Or at least from what I understand they do. There are some depredation landowner voucher/permits that may be property specific and different dates, but that a whole nother can of worms

Stinky--

these are not CWMU tags like you had last year down there which were specific to the private land that while within the entire SJ unit is a smaller portion of that unit. These LO tags allow you to hunt the entire public land unit plus some of the private lands within the unit that is not a part of the CWMU--make sense?

HA! These prices were no where near the price that the mule deer one went for. Wasn't it like 240,000? Something like that. Sorry to get this post off topic.
