Here was my opener up in the Methow. Success in the mountains. I was aiming for something bigger and even turned one down that was, but this hunt turned out so picture perfect. It was just what I had planned, just wish he had been about 40 inches. I chose to hunt with the longbow instead of my rifle and saw this guy and was able to cut him off to ambush him. I hit him at 20 yards. He whirled and ran down under the big rock in the background. He started to try to climb the hill when he collapsed. Another kill this year with the Sapphire Longbow.

Sweet buck. Now thats gonna tear alot of the rifle guys up in the methow right now, you got a dandy buck during rifle season with you bow, thats awesome. Hopefully my family has tagged a couple over there by now. They are up near Black pine. Beautiful buck and congrats, cant wait for the late archery season.

That's awesome that you shot him with a long bow during the modern firearm opener. Man that's going to hurt alot of guys, way to go!

Nice job Doug, I'm glad you are putting that stick to good use!! I hate to see it sitting on a shelf gathering dust!

Dang.....Did any of your bunch head north again this year, or did you all stay down here?

My family was up in winthrop, i stayed here this year but will be back next year, they took 1 3pt, it was a 3pt on one side and a big wart like thing on the other, it was hurt in velvet.

I'm glad they were successful. I couldn't remember if you guys hunted the closed area or not. It has been pettty slow up there this year.

Wow, that's really cool...especially with a longbow. Looks like beautiful country too. I can't even kill a buck that big with my 300win!!!
