CO 2nd season deer

The trailers are being loaded in UT (Utah) and we'll all see you in a few days or weeks. Utards will be eating venison this winter!

COld, is what it means to me. Never have hunted in the snow in the middle of Nov. before. Hope this sissy from CA can handle it.

Eet eez zee northern and central part of zee state where zee air eez thin, zee water eez pure, and zee mountains much too large for zee girly men riding their silly ATVeees!

Brian L- If you kill a buck this year are you going to wear the "New Kids on the Block" blaze orange cap again?

I have a new boy band that I now follow. I ain't tellin' or I'll get picked on. But YES, they make entire outfits with beads, fuzzies, and all the good stuff. In blaze orange. LOL

I'll be the boy band lovin' Utard racing down the road on my noisy ATV. Get out of the way. LOL

Like the weather. I've got a 53 second rifle season. Anybody know what I should expect re: migration or if they will start rutting some? Any help would be much appreciated. Thinking about hunting the minnesota creek area unless somesone has a different suggestion.

No rut. First rifle elk season closes tommorow. Big, older deer should be sufficently spooked out of their minds about now and will be pretty well nocturnal. Read David Long's article in the latest Eastman's on good tactics for hunting this time of year.

Wish it would stay warm and dry till November 13. I burnt all of my points to get that coeveted 4th season license. Now it looks like some of the big guys will have better odds of getting whacked in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. BUCKSPY, try to save us a couple of studs for mid November.

The wind is HOWLING here in Wymoing today. The snow is coming later today, but right now it's about 40 mph winds and in the 30's for temps. Tough hunt day.

Where are you guys hearing this? I checked the long range forecast(15 day) yesterday and they said nothing coming in until the weekend of the 29th and 30th. They showed clear sunshine. Headed to Unit 62 thursday and hoping for snow.

Natioanl weather service, radio, tv, paper, all the news stations have it, its supposed to be a pretty decent storm for some areas. Its snowing now in Fort Collins.

Dutch, thanks for the link. I turned on the weather station after my earlier post and they were saying the same thing. Who knows what they were thinking on the long range forecast that I checked yesterday. This will help out for 2nd season for sure.

My prediction for 2nd season??

A whole bunch of mild weather and blue bird skies after a couple small snow skiffs. And a ton of fun spent enjoying it all.

I talked to my Dad who is camped at about 9500' and he said they already have 5" of snow on the ground, and it's still coming down. This is west of Montrose in Unit#62. Just thought I would let ya'all know. They started seeing some big bucks today, I can't wait!

Save some for me in 3rd season. You guys got me all jazed up and I gotta wait two weeks. I'm ready to go right now!!!!

Bag 'em, Tag 'em, and Drag 'em!!

My brothers are camped at about 8,000 ft, just out of Steamboat Springs, with 14 inches on the ground and more reported for this evening! 4 days til second season!

Be prepared for lots and lots of mud! Grand Junction has received nearly 3 inches of rain in October. That is for a part of the country that only averages somewhere around 9 inches for an entire year. My look at the forecast this morning showed sunshine for the next few days, so any snow may be shortlived. Plan on mud, mud, mud just about anywhere you go. Good luck to everyone.
