Awesome Buck for Larry!!!

Sorry guy's, I've been getting ready for a
youth NM hunt and load'n up the PU.
Thank's Tony. As you can see, I'm a moron
I live in central Texas. My freind Russell and I
first saw this buck last year running some does.
He's drivers side was busted off about even with
his head. We watched him on an off this summer and
he really added some mass from last year. This bastard
lived in some thick crap, and would only come out for
water or puxxy. It's to early for the puzzy around here
so I caught him coming to a little water hole the other
afternoon. He was coming through some Mesquites and I
hit him with the .25-06. By the way Tony, as you can see
those 110 gr. Accubond's work well. I'm going to let Jeremy,
my youth hunter shoot the same load. I hope he get's a
shot. He's pretty torked. Thanks guys, and thanks Tony.
Hopefully I'll have some good pictures of Jeremy in the
next few week's.

110 Accubonds huh? How do those shoot out of your BOW??? CHEATER!!! Just kiddin, nice going, so when you gonna put me on a Whitey like that??!!

10/19/2006 where in Texas is it open season for rifle? Archery has been open the full month of October.

tex270,
The property I shot the buck on is part of
a Wildlife managment coop. We're part of over
50 ranches that adjoin and work with TP&W to manage
for quality. We have to keep weights and ages on all
deer killed. We meet regularly and have two state biologist's
that help us out. They're good guys. We have two small farms
in the coop, and my main reason to support it is it gets
your neighbors thinking like you do. You can pass a young
buck and he's less likely to get shot by your neighbor 15
minutes later. One of the things we get to do (after you've
participated at least 3 years) is have some flexability on our
season dates. This is voted on by the members of the coop. We
started last weekend and Russell and I agreed it would be this
buck or nothing. I've been trying him with a bow, but he was
having none of it. I'm not going to poach a buck, and i'm darned
sure not going to poach one and have Tony post it on MM.
I appreciate you paying attention though.
thanks,
Larry

Great buck, congrats!!! Probably in the 160's?! I love seing whitetails on MM! :)
So your coop can set it's own season dates?

Within limits set by the state, and only
after you've participated 3 years. This is
actually the first one we've ever taken during
the expanded time frame. We usually wait for the
traditional opener. We decided to make an exception
on him. I just thought the mountain state guys would
get a kick out of seeing him. I know I love looking
at those bull elk pictures.

Very nice and congratulations!
That's a heck of a pretty whitetail!
Thanks for sharing him with us and like you stated before...
nice to put a face with the name! Good luck on your upcoming season and let us know if Jeremy nails a buck!

Thanks Again.
