Sons Idaho buck

My 13 year old son got his first deer last year, a 2x3. This year he was set on getting a 4 point if possible. He was able to get shots at 3 different 4 points, but shot too low with his mothers gun. Due to wrestling practice he has been unable to hunt very much. Tonight we had a couple hours so we headed to the spot where he got his buck last year. There wasn't enough time to hike all the way into the same spot so we hiked up the ridge to the north so we could still look into the same draw, just from a different angle. We were hunting the draw to the south of us so we stayed on the north slope just below the ridgeline and would cross over to glass every so often. We were almost to the top where we planned to drop in from the backside when I spotted a deer in the maples and cedars to the north of us. Blake couldn't see him because he wasn't tall enough, so I told him to get set and ready and I walked towards the deer about 20 yards. They moved into the trees and weren't getting to where he could see them so I threw a little rock into the trees. 3 deer came out the other side, a small 2 point, one doe, and then one that we couldn't tell how many points but was by far bigger than the other. They didn't give him the best shot and where I was away from him I couldn't tell him to wait a minute to see if they would turn. The deer went to where I could only see the back part of the biggest one and he turned so he was quartering away and Blake let one fly and hit him in the top of the back breaking his back. He dropped in his tracks. Blake had been a little frustrated at missing 3 deer this year, but the smile on his face when I looked up the hill at him was one that said it had all been worth it. He said he was sure it was at least a 3 point so we headed down the hill to see, it was a smaller 4x4, so he was even happier. Mom had the camera with her, so we didn't get pics till we got home. I haven't figured out how to get pics on here as it always says there is an error, but if anyone is willing to post them I will email them to you. Thanks
