I just finished reading through the thread on "gang hunting" which had been locked (thanks mod).

There is some definate opinions expressed which is fine, but I think the constant hammering on biologists, G&F folks and anyone who makes a living protecting OUR game is crap!

These people could make more money doing other things but they choose to dedicate their lives to making a long term difference. Granted there are some that should not be there but sometimes when you can't pay the big dollars you get people without the best motives. Most of these folks are great people. They are looking after US!

Son of the SOuth sounds like he would prefer all game management go the landowners. Wow. No more kids hunting (except the rich ones), lost generations of hunters and the eventual loss of the sport. Landowners have the right to make money and I have always contended that most of them have the game in mind but the dollar has to stop being the driving force!

Why? Because if we sportsman cannot get our collective crap together, the common man is going to stop hunting. When he stops taking his kids and their kids and so on, there will be a loss in total numbers that will result in the anti's having enough clout to make it all illegal.

Stop the commercialization. Realize the long term impacts and respect the people that take care of us, even if you dont agree with how. Bitchin here is not helping. Get involved.

I find it rather funny that people are so ready to criticize the jobs and actions of others. If they are not doing it right, or the way YOU think it should be done, by all means you have every right to go apply for that position and do the job yourself. I find it funny that many can/do criticize a biologist for making decisions based on what they see, and they see it every day, yet the average joe blow thinks they don't know what they're doing and they should do it his way. Trust me, if they were doing that bad of a job, they wouldn't have the job for too long. It happens with every profession, sports is the worst. If YOU can do better, DO IT. Don't ##### cause it wasn't done how you think it should be.

I agree as well, I just dont think that biologists are the only ones that know something about conservation. Good biologists working WITH conservation groups benifits wildlilfe more than having them work against each other. That was my point on the 'gang' thread.
