2007 Utah

Hey guys. So it's almost time to start thinking '07 already (that sucks). WOndering what people are thinking for Utah in '07. I think the general feeling is that the Book Cliffs are down. Henry Mountains impossible to draw. Paunsaugunt still tough to draw (and from what I hear been down a little?). I here good things about San Juan Elk Ridge, but no details. What about Filmore or West Desert? Those are areas no one ever talks about. Just curious to see what people are thinking and seeing.

I know no body likes to talk about "their areas," but I never hurts to talk a little.

What a great feeling... knowing I'm not the only one already obsessed about 2007!

I'm on a waiting period for Elk and wondering how to draw anything for Deer in the next 4 years (1 pt going into next). Doesn't look good.

Well that makes three of us looking at 07. I've been purusing the CO stats the last few days. I'm also thinking of cashing in my 7 UT elk points on a lesser unit archery/muzzle loader. The way I figure, I won't be pulling any of the big name units anytime soon, if ever. Might as well hunt elk once, and a few antelope or deer before I die in my home state.

Kirt, if you did you're homework, and I know you are one that does, you could probably find a decent, (decent meaning decent operator) CWMU for deer by the time your elk waiting is over.
