Last day of the general season, what is everyone seeing this year? Are the big boys starting to migrate? Have you started to see bucks moving with the does? I would be particularly interested in the area around Twin Springs. Anyone get anything decent sized up there yet?

Thanks.

Was up there this last weekend...along with the usual 500,000 other hunters....didnt really see much hanging in the camps...a few here and there but nothing like in the past.
The does and smaller bucks seemed to be moving around most of the day...and about every group of does had at least a small buck with them.
Seen 16 bucks Sunday...biggest was a 24" 3 point...the rest were forkies and small 3's

I thought that might be the case. I decided to change things up a little this year and try out the area during archery season. Hopefully things will improve in the coming weeks.

Anyone else see anything different?

We saw alot of deer around Arrowrock Sat. morning. Saw more hunters than deer...got a nice 3x3. See if F and G can give some info. from checkstations?!

we were up there above arrow rock Monday saw a few bucks, this cold weather should get them moving step son killed hist first buck (forked horn)

Was above Arrowrock yesterday evening. I saw 20 or so deer but no live bucks. Some guys had gotten a nice 24" symmetrical deep forked 4X4 that morning and someone was dressing a big bodied deer in the headlights on the road shoulder as I drove out - did not stop to look at antlers though. Some of the does and fawns I saw appear to be moving downstream.

Good luck.

I just got back home last night, We passed up on a couple of 24" bucks and I did shoot a 26" 5X5, It was the biggest one I saw shot while we were there the last 5 days. I saw more big bulls this year then I have ever seen in 39, It should be a banner year for the elk hunters.

Wehunt,

do you have any pictures of the 5X5 you shot?

Thank you to everyone who has replied.

I don't have any yet. My battery was dead in my camera. When I take some I will post.

Not this year, I could only wish. I did shoot a really nice buck in washington with my bow, the first day of the season at around 7:00 am. It was pure luck, no skill at all. A good friend of mine had been watching some bucks in Grant County the week before season. So opening morning we went to the area and I walked 200 yards off of the asphalt road and stood in the sagebrush and at around 7:00 here came two nice bucks and they made the mistake of stopping 20 yards from me. I was already at full draw when they stopped so I released and got the biggest one. It is a real nice buck, right at 24" wide and 19" tall and very heavy. It is a 3X4 with small eye gaurds. I'm would really love to get the entiat tag again next year. I do have four friends that drew it this year so I will help them.
